Meet Greg - Writer | Speaker | Saunterer

Greg Keaney is a coastal writer, speaker, saunterer, and storyteller. He has walked every one of New South Wales’ 1000 beaches—covering over 1000 miles (1600 km) from Dreamtime (Tweed Heads) to Eden. Now, he’s walking every single step (200 miles - 321 km) of Sydney Harbour—from the Heads to the Headwaters and back again—without bridges or artificial water crossings.

His work, featured in Bushwalk Magazine, Australian Hiker, The Walking Post UK The Leader, Alistair Humphreys Shouting from the ShedSydney Morning Herald, Melbourne Age, Go Abroad, Borneo Bulletin, Brunei Times and other publications, blends immersive travel writing with practical insight, historical trivia, linguistic curiosity, philosophical reflection, and personal narrative.

Greg’s first project, Dreamtime to Eden, chronicles his 1000-mile journey along every beach and headland of the NSW coast. His current project, Warrane Wanderings, documents his walk around Sydney Harbour’s 321 km shoreline—one inlet, headland, and hidden track at a time.

With dry wit and deep reverence for place, Greg invites audiences to rethink the edges of Australia through slow travel, sensory noticing, and lyrical storytelling.

He reflects on topics such as the art of noticing, the importance of balance, the need for adventure and easy techniques for personal & professional triumph.

Available for interviews, features, and speaking engagements on coastal travel, walking adventures for mere mortals, the MEcro Method (for organisations and teams), and the simple art of discovering wonder in ‘going for a little walk.’
